Diploma In Montessori Method of Education

This is a foundation Montessori teacher training course. It is suitable for students wishing to work with or to teach children from 2 ½ to 6 years of age. The diploma is awarded by Modern Montessori International , London.
 
 
ENTRY QUALIFICATION

Applicants are accessed on their individual merits but most have obtained at least 3 GCE ‘O’ Levels for its equivalents. They must also have a good standard of both written and spoken English. They must be at least 17 years of age.

AIMS
The course aims to develop in students a high level of professional competence as teachers of the Montessori Method to children from 2 ½ to 6 years of age. It will give students:

1. A through grounding in the Montessori principle and philosophy.
2. Basic understanding of child psychology.
3. An appreciation and understanding of the teaching aids developed by      Dr. Montessori.
4. A knowledge of the Montessori environment and the role of a      Montessori directress/director.
5. A knowledge of the Montessori curriculum.

DMT 101: Montessori principle and philosophy
DMT 102: Child Development: The Early years, Children Health & Nutrition.
DMT 103: Curriculum – Mathematics, Language, Art & Music
DMT 104: Montessori Exercises of Practical Life
DMT 105: Sensorial Education
DMT 106: Language, Phonics & Grammer
DMT 107: Mathematics
DMT 108: Cultural Subjects:- Geography, Botony, Zoology, History
DMT 109: Teaching practice
 
COURSE MATERIAL
On acceptance on to the course, you will receive a manual and two text books.
 
  OPTIONAL TEACHING PRACTICE
  An increasing number of employers expect prospective employees to have work experience in the Montessori classroom. To meet the need, we offer students an opportunity to obtain the International Diploma upon completion of supervised teaching practice in an accredited Montessori school.
 
  MODE OF STUDY
  Full – Time / Part-Time Study

External Study

  1.Deploma

In order to obtain the diploma

   Full-time and part-time students have to :

     a) Attend lectures regularly
     b) Complete and pass written assignments
     c) Pass written and practical examinations.

Full-time students need to complete the teaching practice.

   External students have to:

     a) Attend an 11-day practical training workshop
     b) Complete and pass written assignments
     c) Pass written and practical examinations

2.International Diploma

In order to obtain the international diploma, students have to obtain the diploma and complete the teaching practice.
Dip/Advanced Diploma In Montessori Method of Education (For teaching children from 2 ½ – 9 years)

This is a foundation and elementary Montessori teacher training course. It is suitable for parents and teachers wishing to work with or to teach children from 2 ½ – 9 years of age. The Diploma/Advanced Diploma is awarded by Modern Montessori International. London
